KRJZ House is underway

This unique home (KRJZ House) is being constructed according to the strict Built Green 4-star requirements insuring that the home is super energy efficient and is constructed with materials and techniques that minimize impacts to the environment. Everything from the location and amount of windows, to the location of the high efficiency tankless water heater and ultra efficient air sealing and insulation, to the paint used on the walls carries this theme forward.

Z-House Cabinets & Interior Siding…

…that’s right – interior siding. The Minaret (concrete panel) siding wraps from the exterior to the interior surfaces between the living room and kitchen areas. The effect (designed by Ryan Stephenson of Pb Elemental Architects) connects the interior and exterior spaces in a manner that compliments the full-height windows facing the private courtyard. This siding is installed in a rain screen application where the panels are held off the wall about a 1/2″ which improves the structures ability to shed water and breath. The house is wrapped in a black vaproshield fabric that provides the water-proof protection, which you can see if you look closely between the Minaret panels.

The custom made cabinets were recently delivered and installed also.

North Creek Dental Clinic Update

It’s Cold! 18-degrees this morning at the North Creek Dental jobsite. I guess that’s warm compared to 8-degrees in Olympia!?

We are entering the finish stage of this project, which always feels like a major milestone. Siding is nearing completion and flooring is going down.
